During the class of Art, the learning objectives are learning about the DAIE process, shapes, line, textures, colors, positive/negative space, and the color spectrum. This is valuable to my future because this will help me improve on being more artistic. The presentation that I am submitting as an artifact for Art had learning objectives like the DAIE process, shapes, line, textures, colors, values, and positive/negative space.
The assignment or project was about choosing an artist of my choice and required me to teach my classmates about the artist and their art while using art vocabulary. The Process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with me choosing an artist to talk about in the presentation. Then I went to do research on the artist’s biography and looked for any quotes that they said and then sited the source of where I found them. I moved on to looking for any 10 paintings that the artist had created. After adding the 10 pictures, I then chose one of the paintings that I wanted to describe in the presentation. I had to then come up with descriptions that described the painting by using art vocabulary words like texture, style, color, ect. I then added arrows and animations to help me point out specific aspects of the painting while I was presenting. Finally, I had to present in front of the class while being recorded. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned or grown by improving my vocabulary. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence of how I used the vocabulary words throughout the presentation.
The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated in this project are skills needed for career and college and thinking critically and creatively. I have demonstrated skills needed in career and college in the artifact by demonstrating that I have improved in my observations. This is important because being able to observe important pieces of something can help me make better presentations. The Second SLO I demonstrated was thinking critically and creatively by analyzing the painting closely and looking into deeper aspects of the painting. This is important because this has helped me improve on looking for deeper meanings of something that looks simple. I could have improved the self directed learner who communicates effectively SLO better by looking up at the audience more and talking louder and more enthusiastic.
Overall the the most important things I have learned in this class this year are how to make better presentations and how to examine things more closely. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future if I ever need to look closely at something to get more information and to help me describe them to crowds of people.
